Stage 5: Rianxo-Padrón

On this day we tackle the longest stage of this route, almost 30 km. It is advisable to be mentally prepared for a long, but rewarding, walk. Here we can see the maritime route that gives its name to the route, “A Orixe”, known as Traslatio.

Stage 5 of the Camino de Santiago A Orixe, which covers from Rianxo to Padrón. Starting in Rianxo, with its maritime charm, walkers continue their journey through diverse landscapes that combine rural serenity with the influence of the Atlantic Ocean.

The path winds along picturesque paths, passing through small villages and forests, providing pilgrims with moments of tranquility and connection with nature. As they advance, they approach Padrón, a historic town that plays a crucial role in Jacobean tradition.

Padrón, known for its importance in the history of Santiago, offers pilgrims the opportunity to explore its old town, visit the Church of Santiago and immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the region. This stage, marked by the combination of varied landscapes and historical background, contributes to the spiritual and cultural meaning of the Santiago Way A Orixe.
