This spectacular route will take you over 200 km of wild Atlantic coast, from Malpica to Finisterre, the heart of the Costa da Morte (the Coast of Death).

The Lighthouse Way passes through some of the most iconic lighthouses of Galicia, like Faro Vilán, Roncudo, Nariga… part of the heritage of the Costa da Morte.

On your way, you will leave behind wild beaches, small fishing villages and breathtaking cliffs. You will be able to enjoy spectacular views and the gastronomy of this area, linked to the sea.

This unique route will allow you to know one of the most genuine and unspoiled regions of Spain, and enjoy its unquestionable beauty.

Day 1:

Arrival and accommodation in Malpica.

Day 2: Malpica – Niñons (22 Km)

The first walking day starts in the charming town of Malpica, the surfers will welcome you from Canido Beach. You will walk 22 km of ups and downs along the coast, until you arrive in Niñóns.
The path passes through 6 beaches, and big cliffs; you´ll be able to contemplate the Sisargas Islands and Punta Nariga.

Day 3: Niñons – Ponteceso (22 Km)

The second day is considered to be a bit harder, but the views are worth the effort. You will visit one of the most emblematic lighthouses of the region, Faro Roncudo. and you may understand why this area is so popular for wind energy!
In addition, you will walk through a really good area for bird watching, and you will be able to see the “percebeiros” working hard!

Day 4: Ponteceso – Laxe (25 Km)

On the walk from Ponteceso to Laxe, you will be able to know a bit more about the archeological heritage of Galicia, as you will pass through the Castro A Cibda and the Dolmen Dombate (celtic constructions).
You will walk through pines and eucalypt forests, and you will be able to watch many different bird species.
The arrival in Laxe is simply spectacular, as you come down you will be able to contemplate the big white sand beach, and the intense blue color of the sea.

Day 5: Laxe – Arou (17 Km)

This day is the shortest one, only 17 km separate you from Arou, your next destination.
It should be highlighted the panoramic view of the Ría de Corme and Laxe, and the small town of Camelle.
Here, you will be able to visit the Museum of Man, that was created by a German artist that fell in love with the region and moved there in the 60´s.
