A very interesting project, which has great actors and will keep you glued to the screen. Let’s discover more!
Premiere of the series 3 Caminos on Amazon Prime
The premiere of this project, that combine drama and comedy, takes place three weeks after the beginning of the Holy Year Xacobeo. As part of the promotional strategy for the Xacobeo 2021 it is one of the many events and initiatives that want to boost the Jacobean year, which as we have seen in another article, has been extended until 2022. A real gift after the limitations imposed by the covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Watching this series is, somehow, a way to compensate for the difficulties that did not allow many pilgrims to walk the way as they had planned. If you are one of the many who are hoping to enjoy again the magical landscapes of the Camino and want to experience this very special adventure, don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the Way of Saint James.
The series 3 Caminos is composed of eight chapters in which we will see emblematic places such as: Belorado, Burgos, Santa Colomba de Somoza, Carrión de los Condes, Frómista, León, Ponferrada or Astorga. Many of the locations that appear on the screen may arouse beautiful memories in pilgrims who have already traveled this route in the past. The series was filmed in the autonomous regions of Navarra, La Rioja, Castilla y León and Galicia. Directed by Norberto López Amado, Franziska Meletzky and Ignacio Mercero, it was produced by Ficción Producciones in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, Televisión de Galicia, RTP, Cinemate and Beta Films, and the collaboration of the Government of Navarra, Junta de Castilla y León and the Government of La Rioja.

What is the series about?
The eight chapters take place in three periods, precisely 2000, 2006 and 2021, which correspond to the 3 moments in which the main characters, Álex González, Verónica Echegui, Cecilia Suárez, Anna Schimrigk, Andrea Bosca and Alberto Jo Lee, walk the Camino. As the years go by, these friends get older, their personalities change and, at the same time, their friendship grows and evolves too. The bonds that will be created among the friends of this international group are a reality for many of the viewers who have undertaken the pilgrimage to Santiago.
One of the key points of this series is, in fact, the strong connection between the stories told by the main characters and the motivations that drive each pilgrim to undertake the Camino. The themes addressed may be very familiar to you and it is likely that while watching the series you will identify yourself with some of the characters. The series sets out to talk about important issues such as fear, love, disillusionment, sacrifice, the passage of time and much more. In short, what the characters are looking for are answers to the typical questions that accompany us all throughout our lives when we stop to reflect on what really matters.
We are sure that this series will touch you a lot and will make you reflect on the meaning of this route because as the protagonists say “the Camino is more than a simple collection of stamps, it is the connection between heaven and earth” and above all it cannot be explained!
